Authentic round lidded metal box by renowned Northwest Coast artist Glen Rabena (b. 1953, adopted Haida Eagle Clan).
This distinctive piece features a finely detailed raised human face on the lid, set against a green stone surround, with classic formline designs wrapping the sides and small abalone-style inlays. The underside of the lid is stamped GR28.
Rabena is known for his traditional-mode work in wood, silver, gold, and pewter, as well as his popular bird serigraphs. He studied at the Kitanmax School of Northwest Coast Art at Ksan and was formally adopted into the Haida Eagle Clan by hereditary chief Claude Davidson.
